Sitcom is a ratings hit for BBC Two

New sitcom Hebburn proved a ratings hit for BBC Two last night.

A total of 1.8million viewers watched the show - including 100,000 on the BBC HD channel – more than 500,000 up on the average audience that 10pm slot normally attracts.

It was the second-most watch show at the time, beaten only by the BBC News at Ten.

The show was written by stand-up Jason Cook, and stars fellow comedians Chris Ramsay and Jim Moir, aka Vic Reeves. Click here for Chortle’s review.
