Here comes the science bit...
Dara O Briain is to host a new science show for BBC Two.
The six-part series, to air from next month, will feature a team of expert guests and roving reporters taking a single subject and examine it from different angles.
The commission follows the success of O Briain's School Of Hard Sums for Dave, and taps into the comedian's degree in mathematics and theoretical physics.
Comedians will also guest on Dara O Briain’s Science Club, including Marcus Brigstocke, Jessica Hynes, Mark Steel, Josh Widdecombe and Ed Byrne.
O Briain said: “I’m very excited to be opening the doors to my brand new Science Club on BBC Two. It’s for anyone, who like me, is curious about space, brains, extinction and sex and all the great ideas about how the universe works.
'And if that doesn’t grab you, we’ll show you how to measure the speed of light using cheese on toast or find your DNA with strong Polish vodka.'
Kim Shillinglaw, the BBC's commissioning editor for science and natural history added: 'This is science’s moment – it sits right at the heart of modern life.
'Dara O Briain’s Science Club will give you a lot to think about and a bit to laugh about – and show you that science has never been more exciting or more accessible than right now.'
His science guests will include materials scientist Mark Miodownik, neuroscientist Tali Sharot, physicist and oceanographer Helen Czerski and journalist Alok Jha.
