Kids' comedy role for stand-up Thomas

Stand-up Sy Thomas is to star in a new children’s TV comedy

He will play a time-travelling adventurer, visible only to the title character, in the CBBC show The Revolting World Of Stanley Brown.

Thomas’s character, Archie, is a descendant of Stanley – a curious 13-year-old – who travels back in time to share adventures with the teenager as they explore the world around them in microscopic detail.

Thomas says: ‘Present day is an alien world to the flamboyant Archie – his bafflement at the workings of modern times, coupled with his overzealous desire to aid Stanley in his scientific discoveries, usually causes more trouble than help.’

It is not the first foray into kids’ TV for Thomas, best known on the circuit for his Life Of Si double act with Simon Feilder.

He has presented links on Nickelodeon for nearly two years and hosted the CITV show The Cool Stuff Collective, a which he helped devise and write.

Thomas has also made an independent film, End Of The Road, based on a 4,000 road-trip across Africa he undertook with fellow stand-up Alexis Dubus  in a car they bought for £100.

The Revolting World Of Stanley Brown starts on CBBC on September 21.
