Take a trance on me...
Rufus Hound is to host a new ‘comedy hypnotism gameshow’ for ITV2.
The role comes despite the comic’s vow to stretch his creativity after leaving Keith Lemon’s Celebrity Juice on the same channel.
Hound is currently starring in a new experimental play, Utopia, which opened at the Soho Theatre last night, while in a recent Chortle article he said he wanted to challenge himself to try to regain the inspiration he got as a new comic, in awe of the stand up greats.
A call going out for potential subjects of the hypnotist captured the mood of the show, which Hound conceded might be‘incongruous’ with his new career direction .
‘ITV2 are looking for groups of 4 FUN, OUTGOING, LIVELY mates to take part in AN AMAZING New Comedy Hypnotism Game Show hosted by Rufus Hound,’ the memo read. ‘The 4 of you will need to be able to prove you all have a GREAT relationship with each other and that you’re all up for a good laugh!’
Producers are holding a casting session in Leeds on June 30, with the show recorded in London next month.
It is being made by Whizz Kid, the producers of Let’s Dance For Comic Relief and Being N-Dubz
