Harry Hill's 'U-turn' over TV Burp

Show WILL return after all, it's claimed

TV Burp is reportedly set to continue – after Harry Hill had a change of heart.

The comic had planned to quit the hit ITV1 show after nine years, complaining that the workload of watching so much TV was too much. The decision had reportedly led to a split with his agents Avalon, whose production arm make the lucrative show.

But he has now agreed to make more episodes to air in the autumn, The Sun reports today.

The tabloid claims that the U-turn came after Simon Cowell intervened. The music guru is said that the loss of TV Burp – and its audience of up to seven million – could have a knock-on effect on other Saturday night shows like The X Factor.

Hill and Cowell are currently collaborating on an X Factor musical.

Last month, it was reported that Hill was to jump to Channel 4 in a £2million deal that included the chance to make a full-length movie. That deal was also said to cover a sketch show on the channel which first brought him to fame.
