Owzat! Cricket book deal for Miles Jupp

Based on his Edinburgh Fringe hit

Miles Jupp has signed a book deal based on his 2010 Edinburgh show Fibber In The Heat.

The paperback – which will have the same title – describes how he blagged his way on to the press pack following the England cricket team’s tour of India in 2006. Posing as the BBC Scotland cricket correspondent, he found himself socialising with David Gower, Ian Botham and Nasser Hussain.

Publishers Ebury – who are releasing the 320-page book on May 3 – compared Jupp to Boot, the hapless journalist in Evelyn Waugh's Scoop.

This will be the first book written by Jupp, whose screen credits include Rev, Mock The Week and Balamory.

Jupp will be embarking on a second UK tour of the live show to coincide with the book's publication.

Meanwhile, he will also be the champion of the Orange Kit-Kat Chunky in an £6million marketing campaign for Nestle.

Customers will be invited to choose their favourite limited edition to be permanently added to the range. White Choc will be voiced by Fresh Meat’s lecturer Tony Gardner, Double Choc by PhoneShop’s Miranda Hennessy, and Peanut Butter by stand-up Jason Lewis.
