'It’s Saw meets the Chuckle Brothers'

Ross Noble to star in horror film

Ross Noble is to star in a low-budget horror film he describes as ‘Saw meets the Chuckle Brothers’.

In Stitches, the comic plays a jaded children’s clown who is accidentally killed at an unruly party. Years later, when the kids are teenagers, he returns from the grave to avenge his death.

The film also stars Tommy Knight, the 18-year-old best best known for playing Luke Smith in The Sarah Jane Adventures. It is being produced by Dark Sky Films, and directed by Conor McMahon whose credits include Zombie Bashers, The Disturbed and The Braineater.

Greg Newman, vice-president of Dark Sky’s parent company MPI Media, said: ‘McMahon has revealed a unique cinematic vision, and as he brings a fresh and twisted take to the genre, we’re excited to bring his next wild ride into production.’

In an interview with the Newcastle Chronicle today, Noble said: ‘Roughly, I’m a kids’ entertainer who hates kids and at this party, a bunch of children kill me by accident, then years later I come back and start bumping them off. I know how that sounds, but it’s not what you’re picturing. It’s hard to describe.

‘I suppose it’s Saw meets the Chuckle Brothers, but I’m now picturing Saw meeting the Chuckle Brothers, and it’s not like that, so I don’t know!’
