Russell Brand's new film

Russell Brand is to produce and star in a new comedy movie, The President Stole My Girlfriend.

His new production company Branded Films will make the film for Warner Bros, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

He told the trade magazine: ‘In this movie, the president steals the girlfriend of a sexy hippie—me, obviously, It was inspired by the night I naively invited Warners Bros. president Jeff Robinov for dinner.’

Brand was last seen in the remake of Arthur, which disappointed at the box office, while he will appear in both the forthcoming screen adaptation of West End musical Rock of Ages and Lamb of God, playing a bartender who befriends a Christian who loses her faith and heads to Las Vegas to indulge in a sinful life.
