Steve Coogan 'lost interest' in new sitcom

...says collaborator Jeff Garlin

Steve Coogan has abandoned a sitcom he was planning with Curb Your Enthusiasm star Jeff Garlin after ‘losing interest’ in the idea.

The pair were collaborating on a series for HBO after the Alan Partridge star made a guest appearance on the sixth series of Curb.

But they had such different working patterns, the idea never amounted to anything.

Garlin told the Press Association: ‘I like writing in the morning, he likes it in the afternoon. We were both pretty good at lunch, but I ran out of steam at 12 o'clock and he'd not even started up yet, so I think he lost interest.’

And in a previous interview, he said: ‘We got along great and it was coming together slowly, but it didn't work out. I love collaborating, though.’
