Frank Skinner's rows to flare up again
Frank Skinner’s Radio 4 sitcom Don’t Start has been commissioned for a second series.
The order for another six episodes comes while the first series is still on the air – with the third of four episodes going out at 11pm tonight.
Skinner stars alongside Katherine Parkinson, of IT Crowd fame, as a married couple who each week engage in increasingly elaborate arguments, sparked by apparently trivial flashpoints.
Skinner, who also writes the show, said: ‘I’m really excited about making a second series of Don't Start. It's the fastest re-commission I've ever been involved with.
‘Turns out all those arguments I used to recall with horror can now be re-defined as research.’
The show has been a critical success, with the Daily Mail calling the writing ‘ferociously good’ and The Guardian saying: ‘What distinguishes the writing here – and makes it regularly hilarious – is how Skinner captures the clichés and patterns of rows, their terrible predictability, but also their fuming weirdness.’
