More comics join Sky's Little Crackers
Johnny Vegas, Jack Whitehall and Harry Hill have signed up to make short films for Sky 1’s Little Crackers season this Christmas.
The series has already been announced, but Sky today confirmed the full-line up, with Barbara Windsor, Sheridan Smith and Sally Lindsay also added.
Sky’s head of comedy, Lucy Lumsden said: ‘We have some of the best actors and comedians serving up some brilliant comedy shorts.’
The new names join the previously announced John Bishop, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Alan Davies, Jane Horrocks and Shappi Khorsandi for 11 short films on the theme ‘The First Time I...’
As last year, the films are about an incident from the star’s past, with the comics taking a cameo or supporting role.
Whitehall tells of when he ran away from home when his dad wouldn’t buy him a Barbie doll for his birthday; Bishop’s story is about working in his dad’s teddy bear factory as a teenager, and having to sell the Soft Toys door-to-door; while Vegas’ tells of playing Father Christmas at the church Christmas fair when his dad drops out.
But Hill has has gone for a surreal, fictional tale of when he and his Thai bride go to Africa to adopt a puppet child with maverick guitar skills
Vegas, Hill, Bishop and Bhaskar will be directing as well as writing and appearing in their films.
