Radio 2 goes for the Byrne

Jason's sitcom commissioned

Jason Byrne’s sitcom Father Figure has been picked up for a short series by Radio 2.

The station broadcast a pilot of the show, in which the comic plays a house husband looking after the children, as part of its Comedy Showcase season last year.

And now the BBC has commissioned four full episodes, to be recorded in front of a studio audience later this month.

Byrne also wrote the show, which co-stars Father Ted’s Pauline McLynn and stand-up Michael Smiley.

Check our free tickets section for details of how to be in the audience for the recordings.
