Rory Bremner joins Strictly Come Dancing

...but he's an outsider

Rory Bremner is to be a competitor on the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC has confirmed.

The 50-year-old comedian admitted ‘my life is about to become more colourful, and arguably less satirical,’ after the news was announced.

He tweeted: ‘Have to say the contestants are a great bunch and very funny. V helpful when everyone's soo nervous.’

The other male contestants are Jason Donovan, Harry Judd [drummer in McFly], Dan Lobb [sports presenter on ITV1’s Daybreak], Audley Harrison, Robbie Savage and Russell Grant.

And the women are Holly Valance, Nancy Dell’Olio, Lulu, Chelsee Healey [an actress from Waterloo Road], Anita Dobson, The One Show’s Alex Jones, Edwina Currie.

Bremner is a 25/1 long shot to take the title, according to bookmakers Ladbrokes. Only Harrison, Currie and Grant have longer odds, while Judd is 2/1 favourite

The series starts on BBC One at 6.10pm this Saturday.
