Friday Night Dinner heads to the States
Channel 4 comedy hit Friday Night Dinner is set to be remade for American TV – by the same man who successfully adapted The Office.
Greg Daniels is developing the show for NBC, the same network that airs The Office, according to Hollywood industry website Deadline.
Daniels is expected to executive produce the show with his producing partner Howard Klein, British creator Robert Popper and UK production house Big Talk. It is not yet clear whether he will be involved in rewriting the scripts.
Channel 4 has recently ordered a second series of the sitcom, which stars Simon Bird and Tom Rosenthal as the brothers in a traditional Jewish family, who reluctantly visit their parents every week.
The original series airs on premium cable channel BBC America in the States.
