Fringe award for Canadian comic

Tony Law has won the first £5,000 Amused Moose prize for the best Fringe comic without a DVD deal.

The experience Canadian expat’s show Go, Mr Tony, Go will now also be professionally recorded, thanks to sponsors 2entertain.

Runners-up were Milo McCabe and Luke Wright – while newcomer Patrick Cahill won £1,500 in the separate Amused Moose Laugh Off competition for breakthrough comics.

Stuart Snaith, the managing director of 2entertain: said that the finalists were all ‘phenomenal’ and that his company would be talking them all about ‘possible DVD deals and support’.
