Book deal for Micky Flanagan
Micky Flanagan has signed a deal to write his memoirs, to be released in Christmas next year.
Publisher Ebury did not disclose the value of the deal but said they expected it to be a strong seller because of his rising fame.
The book, described as ‘personal, confessional and very funny’ will reflect Flanagan’s stand-up, charting his rise from working class roots in the East End of London to being a middle-class star of Mock The Week and Live At The Apollo.
Ebury’s deputy publisher Andrew Goodfellow told trade paper The Bookseller: ‘Micky makes me laugh like a drain, it's as simple as that.
‘He has a phenomenal story to tell. He's fast turning into the most in-demand comic in the country. I think his DVD this autumn will be massive and the major TV channels are falling over themselves to make him a star, all giving him the peak platform for what promises to be a very special book.’
