Bubba Smith was 66

Police Academy star Bubba Smith has been found dead in his Los Angeles home at the age of 66.

The 6ft 7in former American football pro was best known for playing the physically intimidating but soft-spoken Moses Hightower in Police Academy films one to six.

He is thought to have died of natural causes, but the coroner's office had not yet made a final determination of the cause of death.
