Paul Sinha joins ITV quiz

Paul Sinha has signed up to join ITV1 daytime quiz The Chase.

The comedian – and keen quizzer - will be the fourth expert ‘chaser’ on the show, hosted by Bradley Walsh.

Each day one of the ‘chasers’ is pitted against contestants who can win a cash prize if they outsmart them on a series of general knowledge questions.

Sinha, a former GP, has reached No 22 in the British quiz rankings and has previously been a contestant on Are You An Egghead?, Brain of Britain, Mastermind, University Challenge and The Weakest Link – although he failed to win any of them.

He based his 2009 Edinburgh show, 39 Years of Solitude, around his obsession with trivia. It led to a documentary, Paul Sinha’s Quiz Culture, on BBC Radio 4 earlier this year.

He joins the show when series four launches in September.
