BBC offers free stand-up workshops
The BBC is offering free workshops to 30 budding stand-ups at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
The corporation’s LAB initiative - Learn At BBC Scotland – has put out a call for hopefuls aged over 18 to apply for places on three one-day session.
Those accepted will perform up to three minutes of comedy in front of a professional stand-up then offered personalised advice. They will also get the chance to grill a BBC comedy producer at the session, in the corporation’s dedicated Fringe venue.
Project leader Johanna Hall said: ‘You will not only get some feedback from our comedy experts, but also get behind a camera and do some filming.’
To apply, would-be comics should email their comedy biography (500 words max) to labscotland@bbc.co.uk, marked Edinburgh Festival Comedy, by July 28.
