Norman's times

Lovett to write his autobiography

Norman Lovett has signed a deal to write his memoirs – which he says will ‘put the record straight’ about his time on Red Dwarf.

The autobiography, called Talking Head, will cover his life so far, including his time on the stand-up circuit and playing the computer Holly on the sci-fi sitcom.

It will be released by Essex-bsaed Apex Publishing in June 2012.

Lovett told Chortle: ‘I didn't want to do it initially but I think I have some things to say that people would be interested in.

‘Red Dwarf will be covered in full and it gives me the opportunity to put a few facts straight about my experiences with the show.’

In previous interviews, Lovett has complained about the way producers messed him about over a possible Red Dwarf movie, and the comeback series for Dave – in which he didn’t appear. ‘I'd never be working for them again,’ he said at the time. ‘It's just not worth it.’

Apex has previously published autobiographies of Sheila Stefal, Phil DeFreitas and Garry Bushell.
