Talk isn't cheap

Alan Carr signs lucrative two-year deal with C4

Alan Carr has extended his deal with Channel 4 for another two years.

The contract – worth a reported £4 million – means he will make a further four series of his talk show Chatty Man in 2012 and 2013.

His spokesman said the deal means Carr will also be involved in various other projects for Channel 4.

Chatty Man pulls in around two million viewers to its Friday Night spot. Justin Gorman, head of Channel 4 entertainment, said:  ‘Chatty Man continues to go from strength to strength and Alan's warm sense of humour is a huge hit with C4's young audience.’

Carr said: ‘I’m absolutely flattered to be spending another two years at Channel 4, my spiritual home. Being moved to a regular Friday night slot really is the icing on the cake - I’m dead chuffed!’

Meanwhile, Graham Norton has also reportedly signed a £4million deal to keep his Friday night chat show on BBC One for another two years.
