Internet sketch-makers Navelgazing have been commissioned to make a series of comedy shorts for digital channel Dave.

The group, which includes The Office’s Ewen MacIntosh, are creating seven four-minute shows which will be stripped across a week next month.

Navelgazing Presents… will feature parodies of TV shows such as s The One Show, Sky Sports News and Points Of View.

The group are probably best known for their online comedy series Toyboize, about a washed-up boy band trying to make a comeback. Those sketches were brought by Dave in 2009, becoming the first UK web sitcom to transfer to TV.

Navelgazing Presents… was commissioned by Dave channel head Steve North, who said he was looking to ‘road test new original ideas and comedy talent’.

As well as MacIntosh, Navelgazing also includes Jack Brough, Jamie Deeks and Dan Johnston. Their ‘micro sketch show’ will air at 11pm daily from June 12.
