Ricky Grover's film heads to cinemas

Ricky Grover’s Bulla film is set to for a cinema and DVD release this year.

Rights to the movie, based around the comic’s alter-ego of a psychopathic East East gangster which originated on Channel 4's 11 O'Clock Show, have been bought by DVD distributor 4Digital Media.

The company will release the 92-minute film in cinemas this summer, before a DVD release in September..

It also starts Omid Djalilli, Rufus Hound, Peter Capaldi, Steven Berkoff and N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos.

Jonathan Sothcott of Black & Blue Films, which executive-produced the movie, told trade website ScreenDaily: ‘Bulla is an utterly bonkers film that I think will become an instant cult phenomenon and Ricky Grover is a comedy genius.’

Taglienti of 4Digital added: ‘Ricky Grover has created a truly iconic character and we are thrilled to be unleashing him on an unsuspecting public.’

International rights to the film are currently being touted at Cannes.
