Tiernan flooded out
Tommy Tiernan has been forced to cancel a gig in Canada tomorrow night because of flooding.
The comedian – who is being marketed across the Atlantic as ‘the Bono of Irish Comedy’ – had been due to play the Western Manitoba Centenial Auditorium.
But the area, north of Wippipeg, is currently under a state of emergency, with nearly 1,000 households being forced to evacuate as the Assiniboine River floods low-lying property. A man has died after trying to cross a flooded ford in his car.
Tiernan is currently on a tour of Canada promoted by Just For Laughs, the organisers of the Montreal Comedy Festival.
