Larry King's comedy show heads to London
American talk show legend Larry King is bringing his ‘stand-up’ show to London.
The veteran journalist, who hosted the nightly interview show on CNN for 25 years, has recently been touring the US with a live comedy show that promises an ‘hilarious and insightful look’ at his life.
Now it has been announced that he will be bringing the show, Larry King: Standing U, to the Apollo Theatre in Victoria, London, on October 2.
King’s material will cover his life from being a street-smart kid in Brooklyn to his interview career – which includes encounters with the likes of Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra and Jerry Seinfeld – followed by an audience Q&A.
Ahead of his retirement from CNN last year, when he was replaced by Piers Morgan, King told New York magazine: ‘I’m funny. I’m going to do stand-up. That’s what I love.’
And he performed a comic routine when he appeared on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show back in December.
Tickets for the show, priced £38.50 and £35, go on sale at 9am on Friday.
