Michael McIntyre announces £25m tour

...but not until autumn 2012

Michael McIntyre has announced a mammoth 58-date arena tour – 17 months before the first date.

Tickets for the new show go on sale at 9am next Thursday, but the tour doesn’t kick off until August 22 next year. It starts in Cardiff and runs through to December 2012.

It includes six nights at both Wembley and O2 arenas in London, and takes in Nottingham, Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin.

Playing to around 750,000 people, the show will generate aound £25million at the box office alone, with tickets priced around £35.

It will also be released on DVD in November 2012, to follow up his two previous titles, which have sold 2,500,000 copies between them.
