Sheen's rant shuts down sitcom

Star rages at 'pussy punk' writer

Production on Two And A Half Men has been shut down for the rest of this series after its troubled star Charlie Sheen launched an outspoken attack on the show’s creator.

The sitcom had been in limbo while Sheen sought help for his drug and alcohol problems – but the CBS network and producers Warner Bros. Television immediately axed the show in the wake of Sheen’s comments.

They said the decision was ‘based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition’.

Production on the comedy had been due to resume on Tuesday after a month-long hiatus after Sheen was admitted to hospital following an allegedly cocaine-fuelled 24-hour bender with porn stars in his LA home.

Sheen, 45, lashed out at Two And A Half Men creator Chuck Lorre, on radio and then on TMZ.com, for not resuming production of the sitcom when he was ready.

He told syndicated radio host Alex Jones: ‘I’ve spent, I think, close to the last decade, I don’t know, effortlessly and magically converting [Lorre’s] tin cans into pure gold, and the gratitude I get is this charlatan chose not to do his job, which is to write.’

Sheen also called Lorre a ‘turd’ and a ‘clown’, and in an open letter published on celebrity website TMZ.com, called him ‘a stupid, stupid, little man and pussy punk that I never want to be like.’

In a follow-up letter sent after the show was axed, Sheen added added: ‘This contaminated little maggot can't handle my power and can't handle the truth. I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon.

‘Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words – imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists. I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong.’

Sheen, who receives a reported £17million salary for the sitcom, had insisted he cured his problems in ‘a nanosecond,’ using only his mind and called Alcoholics Anonymous a ‘bootleg cult’.

The star, who is supposed to be undergoing rehab at home, has now jetted off to a private tropical island near the Bahamas with his ex-wife Brooke Mueller, porn star Bree Olson and nanny Natalie Kenly – although none of Sheen’s five children are going with them.
