Dave Lamb turns conspiracy theorist

New comedy for Come Dine With Me star

Dave Lamb – the voice of Come Dine With Me – is to star in a new Radio 4 comedy about a conspiracy theorist.

The comic, who has achieved cult fame through the Channel 4 voiceovers, also wrote the four-part series Railings and Spikes.

It revolves around the paranoid Dave Railings, who has dedicated his life to exposing the ‘truth’ – including finding out who killed his dad. He lives with his long-suffering brother Jim, who has given up humouring him and is not even convinced that their dad is dead.

Lamb says: ‘Dave’s a comic character, obviously, but it taps into that wariness a lot of people feel living in cities, that sense that there’s stuff going on beyond the superficial which we don’t know about,.

‘There’s a fine – and comic – line between legitimate concerns and out-and-out paranoia.’

The first shows will be recorded at the Komedia in Brighton this Sunday, and they will air on Radio 4 from late May.
