Return to the Boyle

Frankie back on stage - despite his vow to quit

Frankie Boyle is to perform a one-off gig in his home town, despite having vowed to give up live performance.

The controversial star is playing the one-off show as part of the Glasgow Comedy Festival, to raise money for the Palestine Legal Aid Fund.

However, he previously upset fans in the city by refusing either refunds or to stage an alternative show for the 4,500 ticket-holders who couldn’t get to his performance at the SECC last month because of bad weather.

Boyle will be appearing alongside Fred MacAulay, Gary Tank Commander, Susan Calman and Tom Stade at the benefit gig in the Kings Theatre on March 21.

It is one of more than 400 shows that have just been announced for the 25-day festival, including offerings from the likes of John Bishop, Stephen K Amos, Ed Byrne, Tim Vine, Jenny Éclair, Doug Stanhope – and Professor Brian Cox.
