James Corden lands '£1m+' book deal
James Corden has signed a reported £1million-plus deal to write his autobiography.
Although just 32, publishers Century have snapped him up to publish his memoirs in time for next Christmas.
The Sun says the deal was signed for a seven-figure sum, but Century’s parent company Random House has refused to comment on the figure.
An unnamed friend of the Gavin & Stacey star told the tabloid: 'James just said "fuck it", it was a lot of money and why not? Loads has happened in his life people don't know about.’
Corden came to prominence in the History Boys on stage and on film, before finding fame with the sitcom he co-wrote with Ruth Jones. Although his career took a blow when both his Horne & Corden sketch show and the Lesbian Vampire Killers movie were slated, he has since become a regular on the celebrity circuit, as well as hosting Sky panel show A League Of Their Own.
Century's publicity director Natalie Higgins confirmed: ‘We're delighted to confirm that Century will be publishing James Corden in 2011 and a formal announcement will follow in the new year.’
The book is planned for release next autumn and publishers will hope it will follow in the footsteps of Michael McIntyre's Life And Laughing, which has been one of the biggest sellers this Christmas.
