Brand and Ross, together again
Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross are to be reunited on stage to talk about the Andrew Sachs phone call controversy.
Brand quit his Radio 2 show in October 2008 after the row exploded over the lewd messages he left on the Fawlty Towers star’s answerphone, while Ross was suspended from the BBC for three months for encouraging him.
Now the pair are teaming up again to help promote the second volume of Brand’s memoirs My Booky Wook 2: This Time It’s Personal.
Ross will interview his friend on stage at the Hackney Empire in London on September 30, the day the book is published in hardback.
It is part of a limited promotional tour that promises stand-up and audience Q&A at every show. However, Ross will only be at the first date; with Brand’s long-term collaborator Matt Morgan appearing at the other nights.
The rest of the dates are: Edinburgh EICC (October 5); Newcastle Tyne Theatre, (October 6), Manchester Opera House (October 7), Bristol Hippodrome (October 8), Birmingham Alexander Theatre (October 9).
