Des McLean to sue over radio sacking

Comic calls in the lawyers

Comic Des McLean says he’s going to sue Glasgow’s Radio Clyde – after he was unexpectedly axed from the station.

The 43-year-old stand-up was dumped as co-host of the breakfast show in a schedule shake-up last month, having been given no notice of the plans.

Now he told the Daily Record that he has called in the lawyers.

He said: ‘I was in shock for a few days and not really taking it all in. But I soon realised how unfair it had all been and have started the ball rolling. My lawyers are taking care of it all now.’

McLean was dropped from Clyde 1's Bowie At Breakfast show, where he performed comedy characters and made prank phone calls. Producer Adele Cunningham was also axed.

His place alongside veteran presenter George Bowie was taken by former afternoon host Suzie McGuire
