'Repugnant and whiny'
It comes to something when even Piers Morgan is slating you for being irritating.
But the Britain’s Got Talent judge has inflamed a pot-and-kettle showbiz feud with Alan Carr by branding him ‘repugnant’ and ‘whiny’.
The former tabloid editor, often dubbed one of the most annoying people in Britain, took a swipe after the Chatty Man host said he wanted to replace him on the talent show.
Morgan sniped: ‘I don't think he has merely an irritating voice. He has quite possibly the most excruciatingly high-pitched, whiny, helium-fuelled, nasal, repugnant voice in the history of mankind. With the possible exception of The Krankies.’
He added that the comedian was jealous that Morgan’s chat show – often featuring tearful personal interviews – was more successful in the ratings.
‘Methinks Chatty Man is perhaps a little sore because my own Life Stories show gets three times his audience,’ he wrote in a newspaper column. ‘If I were you Al, I wouldn’t worry about trying to nick one of my jobs. I’d focus more on keeping your own.’
Carr hit back by Tweeting: 'I refuse to be drawn into an argument with someone whose face resembles a butternut squash'
