Movies to stand-up
Michael Winslow – the sound-effects comedian who starred in the Police Academy movies – is to perform a stand-up show in London.
He is part of the line-up at the E4 Udderbelly, the marquee venue in the shape of a giant upside-down purple cow that is returning to the South Bank from May 13.
Winslow – who has also provided voices for The Simpsons, Family Guy and King Of The Hill – will be performing two exclusive shows in the venue on July 12 and 13.
Also making his British debut at the Udderbelly is Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo star Rob Schneider, who has just completed his first stand-up tour of the Sates in 17 years.
He came to prominence on American TV institution Saturday Night Live, where he was a regular cast member for four years from 1994, before starring in the American version of Men Behaving Badly, which ran for two seasons.
He has appeared in a number of other films, and this summer stars in Grown Ups, a comedy about five old friends reuniting 30 years after their high school graduation.
Among the other acts lined up for the Udderbelly are Tommy Tiernan, Sandi Toksvig, Greg Davies, Ardal O' Hanlon and Alexei Sayle; plus oddities such as An Evening With Clarke Peters from The Wire and adventurer Ben Fogle Live
