Peter Kay WILL tour after all
Peter Kay IS going to tour beyond Manchester next year after all, he has announced.
The comic initially announced just four dates at the MEN Arena, near his Bolton home, which immediately expanded to 20 – and even called the show The Tour That Doesn’t Tour Tour.
But now he says he will be hitting the road – so he will have to change the name to The Tour That Doesn’t Tour Tour Now On Tour
The new dates have not yet been announced, by Kay has told fans to expect news this coming week.
On his website today he wrote: ‘Thanks to overwhelming demand, the The Tour That Doesn’t Tour Tour is going to have to go on tour, even if it’s just to try to dilute the ticket prices that some people are charging on e-bay [sic]
‘I’m just in the final stages of putting it together, they’ll [sic] hopefully be an announcement next week, but first and foremost it’s going to be a crackin show!’
Speaking on the Jonathan Ross show on Friday, Kay said he has been writing material ever since his last tour seven years ago – and that he would be trying out new routines from January.
He also gave viewers a preview of some of the material, saying ‘Remember when you’re a kid and your sister wanted a bath… you put your immersion on about four hours before you wanted a bath, and you’d get in their water.
‘Then mum would come in with a kettle and say, “sit back” as she put hot water in, and you know, a bit of Matey. Then on Christmas Eve, Imperial Leather would come out.’
Kay’s last tour, Mum Wants a Bungalow Tour, ran for 180 nights.
