Revealed: Buzzcocks guest hosts
The series of guest hosts who will replace Simon Amstell on Never Mind The Buzzcocks has been revealed by the BBC.
Comedians taking the hot seat include Rhod Gilbert, David Walliams, Frank Skinner, James Corden and Mark Watson.
Edinburgh Comedy Award best newcomer nominee Jack Whitehall, who recently hosted the TNT Show on Channel 4, also gets a shot in the presenter’s chair.
Former Blur bassist Alex James and X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary complete the roster.
In another change, Noel Fielding takes over as a permanent team captain opposite Phill Jupitus – disproving tabloid reports from earlier in the summer that he had lost the job after coming clean about his drug-taking.
The Boosh star said: ‘I am so excited about Buzzcocks. I am leaping across the Camden rooftops dressed as a small white kitten.;
The show’s executive editor, Katie Taylor, added: ‘It's great to welcome so many comics and top musicians, many who have proven themselves as Buzzcocks panellists in the past, to the host hot seat.
‘Noel Fielding will bring his eclectic music taste and surrealist humour, while Phill, having been there since day one, now takes the title of the elder statesman of the show.’
Never Mind The Buzzcocks will return to BBC Two from September 29 – its 22nd series in 13 years.
