Carr, Bishop lead the gripes

Channel 4’s comedy programmes received more than 200 complaints last month.

The Kevin Bishop Show and Alan Carr: Chatty Man led the protests, according to a summary of August’s complaints log.

Not all the criticisms were about matters of taste and decency, however, as one viewer complained of the ‘poor’ quality of The Kevin Bishop Show, saying: ‘The jokes are non-existent, the impersonations are lame and to be frank it’s just not funny.’

Meanwhile, 34 viewers thought Charlie Brooker went too far with his ‘rant’ about God in an edition of his panel show You Have Been Watching.
