BBC orders cop comedy
BBC Two has ordered a comedy drama about a pair of ‘bright, sexy’ police detectives and their complex personal lives.
Vexed will star former Bond villain and Toby Stephens and Lucy Punch, who has appeared in both Omid Djalili and Sarah Silveman’s TV shows, and has been written by Howard Overman, who previously worked on Merlin.
According to the publicity blurb: ‘They may be cops, but Jack and Kate suffer the same frustrations, pre-occupations and insecurities as the rest of us. Always on the move or in their unofficial office - the local café opposite the police station where the coffee and gossip are better - their cases say something about modern life in an entertaining way.’
The three hour-long episodes, commissioned by the BBC comedy department, will go out later this year.
