Limmy have a series...

Scottish stand-up lands TV show

Glaswegian comic Limmy – whose comedy clips have become something of an internet phenomenon – has landed his own BBC sitcom.

The film-maker made a pilot episode for BBC Scotland last year, and he yesterday confirmed on his blog that a full series has been ordered.

He wrote: ‘I can finally announce that Limmy’s Show is getting a series!

‘I’d just like to thank you, if that’s not too cheesy. Thanks to all of yous who have passed my web stuff around, and the folk who came to my live shows, cos if it wasn’t for yous then I wouldn’t be in this position. I’d be fat balding ned with an unknown site, standing on a stage in front of naebody.

‘That’s right, I’m saying “I’d just like to thank the fans”.’

Six half-hour shows will be made, mixing character pieces, observations and sketches, and they are expected to air at the end of the year or the beginning of next.
