Little Britain movie forges ahead
Matt Lucas and David Walliams have finished the script for their planned Little Britain movie.
But they admit the chances of it coming to fruition depend on how famous they can become in America
Their plot, set in Las Vegas, includes characters from the TV series including Kenny the hypnotist, Carol ‘Computer Says No’ and Bubbles Devere.
The script is with Ben Stiller’s production company Red Hour, awaiting the green light.
Walliams told The Sun: ‘We’re really happy with it, but the whole film project is still kind of dependent on how much we can raise our profiles in America.’
Their first series of Little Britain USA received a cool reception from American critics, but a second series will be filmed this autumn.
Walliams added: ‘We do have some new ideas for characters — a mum feeding her son to make him the fattest boy in America, a psycho American girlfriend, but without the bunnies, a woman who has everything Disney themed, and some annoying Scottish air hostesses.’
Plans for a Little Britain movie were first mooted four years ago, with BBC bosses encouraging the idea, saying: ‘People in the movie business are very interested.’
