ITV confirms new stand-up show

...but only in the West Country

The new ITV stand-up show fronted by Arthur Smith is to air from September 4, the broadcaster has announced.

The six-part series Arthur Smith’s Comedy Club, will only be broadcast in ITV’s West and Westcountry region at 11pm on Thursday nights, but the local station is also available via Sky and Freesat boxes.

The show features sets recorded at comedy clubs across the South West, such as Bath’s Comedy Cavern and Bristol’s Comedy Box, as well as the Bristol heat of this year’s Chortle Student Comedy competition.

Stand-ups appearing in the shows are:

September 4: Tom Craine, Rob Heeney ,David Meech, Dartmouth Comedy festival.

September 11: Charlie Baker, Cole Parker, Dougie Dunlop, Susan Murray.

September 18: Zoe Lyons, Tony Law, Stan Stanley, Tom Craine.

September 25: Geoff Whiting, Craig Campbell , Helmut, Chortle Student Comedy heart

October 2: Liam Mullone, Vince Atta, Gareth Richards

October, 9: Craig Campbell, John Robins, Kevin Hampson, plus a feature about being a comedy promoter.
