ITV2 orders radio-based sitcom

ITV2 is making a new sitcom set in a radio station, which is being described as ‘Peep Show meets The Office’.

FM will star the IT Crowd’s Chris O'Dowd, Kevin Bishop, who is just about to launch his own sketch show on the channel, and Love Actually’s Nina Sosanya.

The six half-hour episodes will also showcase new bands, whose music will be played on the fictional Skin FM indie radio station where the show is set.

ITV controller of comedy Saurabh Kakkar said: ‘All the tracks on the show will feature hot new talent and be similar to those you would hear on Xfm. We’re talking with bands and labels who are all really excited about the concept and the script.’

Kakkar added that the show was ‘youthful and vibrant and will sit well on ITV2’.

Production will start in October.
