Borat joins Oscars panel
The Borat star is one of 105 stars invited to join the voting members of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this year.
Also among them is Judd Apatow, writer of Knocked Up and The 40 Year-Old Virgin, and British actor Ray Winstone.
Academy president Sid Ganis said: 'These individuals are all incredibly talented and a credit to the world of filmmaking.'
The academy has 6,000 members, who vote to select the nominees and winners of the Oscars. This year's new recruits will be welcomed at an event in Beverly Hills in September.
