Another Cook book

Peter's second wife to tell her story

Peter Cook’s second wife is to break her lifelong silence about the comedian and write a book which she claims will set the record straight.

Judy Huxtable has signed a deal with Piatkus Books to write Loving Peter, which she says will reveal Cook’s ‘true character.

The memoirs are thought to be a response to So Farewell Then, the biography Cook’s first wife Wendy published two years ago describing their stormy relationship throughout the Sixties.

A spokesman for the publisher told the Daily Telegraph: ‘Judy is writing a very revealing autobiography.

‘She's never spoken about this before and is a very private person, so something has obviously triggered her to break her silence. It may well be the case that she felt Wendy Cook's memoir was unjust.’

Huxtable was married to Cook from 1973 to 1989. Shortly afterwards he married Lin Chong, who he stayed with until his death in 1995, at the age of 57.
