Jupitus makes West End acting debut

Comic to play a life coach

Phill Jupitus is to make his acting debut on the West End stage.

The Never Mind The Buzzcocks comic is to star in the new play Lifecoach at the Trafalgar Studios from May 20 to June 14.

The show takes place in the intimate studio space of the venue, formerly known as the Whitehall Theatre when it became famous for its farces

Jupitus will play Colin, a counsellor who provides the voice of reason for his clients, but who loses his way in his own life. Playing his client Wendy will be Amy Darcy, who has previously appeared in an episode of Spaced.

Lifecoach, a comedy, is written and directed by Nick Reed, who previously wrote episodes of EastEnders, Doctors and Byker Grove.

At last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, Jupitus wrote and co-starred in his first play, Waiting for Alice, based around Tweedledum and Tweedledee.
