Moving Wallpaper keeps moving
ITV recommissions comedy
ITV has ordered another series of Moving Wallpaper, the comedy set behind the scenes of a soap opera.However, the company has not yet decided whether the accompanying soap, Echo Beach, will return. It is possible that it will be recommissioned, but in a pared-down format.
ITV said of Moving Wallpaper, which starred Ben Miller: ‘We're delighted with the show's performance. It has done exactly what it was meant to do in bringing different viewers to the channel.’
Moving Wallpaper has attracted an average of 3.5million viewers – down about 800,000 on the average for its slot – but it is proving popular with viewers in the sought-after 16 to 34 age range.
Echo Beach, which stars Jason Donovan and Martine McCutcheon, has averaged about 3.3million viewers.
