Driving up the ratings
America Unchained attracted an audience of 449,000 – more than six times the channel’s average.
The story of the comedian attempting to drive from the east coast to the west without giving money to any global hotels, restaurants or petrol stations, attracted a lot of newspaper coverage.
It helped the show average share of 3.4 per cent of the total audience. A further 13,000 viewers saw the programme an hour later on More 4+1.
More 4’s average for the 10pm Tuesday slot last year was 71,000.
