Jon makes little impression

Dead Ringers tour axed over 'sluggish' ticket sale

Jon Culshaw has cancelled a UK tour based around his Dead Ringers impressions, amid claims of poor ticket sales.

The impersonator has axed all 54 of his 2008 dates, saying that he was unhappy with how the sketches were working.

But today's Mail on Sunday reports that the tour was abandoned because of ‘sluggish’ box-office demand.

The paper quotes an unnamed sourse saying: ‘The idea of Jon sustaining Dead Ringers sketches on stage for two hours suddenly seemed a difficult one to pull off.

‘The show is technically very complicated and I think Jon realised he had bitten off more than he could chew.’

A spokesman for 39-year-old Culshaw added: ‘Jon doesn’t want to let his fans down and is working on another version. It was his first tour and he wanted it to be right, rather than half-baked.’

The tour had been scheduled to kick off in Bristol in February, and run until May. Fans who have already bought tickets will receive full refunds
