Greg Burns lands top radio slot

Stand-up Greg Burns has landed a high-profile job with London radio station Capital 95.8.

The comic will present the weekday 10am to 1pm slot from January, taking over from DJ James Cannon, whose contract expires at the end of the year after ten years at the station.

Burns, who previously worked for Heart FM in London, currently presents the evening show on Virgin Radio.

Capital’s programme director Scott Muller said: ‘Greg is a seasoned commercial radio professional with experience spanning numerous different genres of music and day parts.

‘Not only that but he’s an entertainer too, a perfect combination for Capital which will appeal to our socially active 15-34 target audience.’

Burns said: ‘Capital is the station which represents one of the world’s most exciting cities and as a Londoner who grew up listening I can’t wait to get into the studio and get started.’

Capital reaches about 1.7million listeners each week.
