BBC3 orders spooky comedy-drama

BBC Three has commissioned a 60-minute comedy-drama pilot about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost sharing a flat.

Being Human has been written by No Angels creator Toby Whithouse, who was also in the finals of the So You Think You’re Funny? stand-up competition this year.

Guy Flanagan and Russell Tovey will play the ultimate ‘odd couple’ as a flatsharing vampire and werewolf, haunted by a ghost with a confidence crisis – played by Andrea Riseborough.

Executive producer Rob Pursey told the Digital Spy website: ‘Being Human is a warm, funny, aspirational drama with an irresistible twist.

‘These three are supernatural creatures but they are desperate to be part of a life we all take for granted. It's an exciting and contemporary take on friendship and finding your way in the world.’

The show will air as part of a season of pilots in February.
